Talk Across, is Nordhus' new talk series where we dive deep into current societal topics and trends. We explore the dynamics that both unite and divide us. Together with relevant guests and organizations, we examine contrasts and intersections – across generations, cultures, demographics, worldviews, and more.
In a time marked by increasing polarization and division, we need conversations that allow for nuance. Talk Across aims to foster a new awareness and greater curiosity about what emerges between people, ideas, and perspectives, through insight and experiences. Together, we open up space for reflection and dialogue – because we believe that this is the key to meeting and acting across differences.
How do we relate to death – and do we even relate to it enough? Is our perception of death nuanced and broad enough?
Talk Across invites you to both a film screening and a thought-provoking panel discussion with death as the theme. We will light candles in the final hours of winter’s darkness and gather close together.
“Do You Dare Dream of Death” is Smilla D. Khonsari’s Robert-nominated short film. With a playful approach to the documentary genre, she explores her own relationship with death, inviting a collective reflection on death as something more than just sorrowful.
After the film, there will be a panel discussion* where we will dive into the Danish approach to death and how we engage with it. Using the film as a starting point, we will explore new ways to examine and talk about death.
*The panel will be updated continuously.
The atmosphere is set right from the communal dinner, featuring candlelight, music, and a delicious meal.
Program:
6:00 PM: Communal dinner (Separate ticket 150,-)
