Through strong partnerships, NORDHUS helps foster culture, community, and sustainable urban development. Here you can learn more about some of the organisations and initiatives we collaborate with.
Cultigen
NORDHUS is a partner in Cultigen, the Capital Region’s urban development initiative. The project works to promote more sustainable tourism in Copenhagen by spreading the city’s cultural experiences to more non-central neighbourhoods and developing new local destinations, including Nordhavn.
The initiative brings together cultural institutions such as NORDHUS, local communities, and other stakeholders. Cultigen is led by the City of Copenhagen and co-funded by the European Urban Initiative.
Kulturdistriktet
Kulturdistriktet is a local neighbourhood association dedicated to strengthening culture and community in Nordhavn and Østerbro. The organisation highlights local experiences and organises annual traditions such as Midsummer (the Danish Sankt Hans) celebrations in Nordhavn, Carnival (the Danish fastelavn), Halloween, and the Street Festival for Århusgade.
Kulturdistriktet also co-organises festivals, debates, networking events, and other cultural activities—including several hosted at NORDHUS.
The organisation is part of a global movement of cultural districts working to create vibrant neighbourhoods with a strong concentration of arts and culture.
Kulturhusene i Danmark
Kulturhusene i Danmark (meaning Culture Houses of Denmark) is a nationwide network of cultural centres across Denmark.
The country’s many cultural centres provide spaces for arts, culture, and local communities. While each house plays a different role in its local area and continues to evolve, they are stronger when working together.
